The administration and coaching staff of Middleburg Academy consider interscholastic athletics to be a vital part of the educational experience.

Middleburg Academy has a policy of drawing its student athletes from the local community. Middleburg Academy’s no-cut-policy allows its wide range of athletic programs to be available to all who wish to participate.

With an average of eighty-four percent of the student body participating in athletics, Middleburg Academy is proud of its sporting tradition, with many of its student athletes going on to play sports at the collegiate level.

Middleburg Academy competes as an independent school in the state of Virginia, and is a member of the CAC, and MILL (lacrosse).

As a testimony to the strength of Middleburg Academy athletes and coaches, the school has won State Championships in Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Boys Lacrosse and Girls Volleyball. Dedicated coaches assist individual students to compete for athletic awards and to win athletic scholarships in their respective fields.

Alex Nieves - Class of 2009 is playing lacrosse at Salisbury University in Maryland. Salisbury is the eight-time NCAA Division III men's lacrosse national champion.
