Admission
The Application Process
The Committee on AdmissionWhen considering a candidate for admission to Middleburg Academy, the Admissions Committee examines the following:
Information submitted on the Application Forms, standardized testing results, the shadow visit and interview, the student's extracurricular activities, interests, ability, potential and desire to both embrace the Middleburg Academy experience and contribute to the school community.
How to Apply To MiddleburgDownload the Application Forms, visit the Office of Admission on Campus to pick up the Forms or request information and an application form by contacting the Director of Admission, Mr. Archie Catalfamo by telephone (540) 687-5581 or email at acatalfamo@notredameva.org1. Complete all three sections of the application and return it with the $50.00 application fee to the Director of Admission, Middleburg Academy, 35321 Notre Dame Lane, Middleburg, VA 20117 2. Give the Records Release Authorization and School Recommendation form to the Head of School, Principal, or Guidance Counselor of your current school.3. Arrange for the applicant to complete the independent testing and to have the results sent to Middleburg Academy. The school code is 5430. This code allows a copy of the test results to be sent directly to the school. Mr. Catalfamo would be happy to answer any questions concerning the testing requirement.4. Schedule a campus visit for the family and a Shadow Day and interview for the applicant.
Shadow VisitsA potential student is welcome to visit the campus and shadow a Middleburg Academy student at any time, either before applying or during the application process. The best way to get a feel for the school is to be on campus during a regular school day. We are confident you will see the Middleburg difference in how the students interact with each other, the faculty and staff, and the quality of the education they are receiving from our highly qualified teachers.
Shadow visits last approximately one day and allow students to attend classes with a Middleburg Academy student who has similar interests. An informal interview of prospective candidates is typically held when a student shadows. Alternatively, candidates come to campus on a separate date for their interview.
"There are no locks on our lockers, no hall passes, no VA SOL's to contend with and no physical segregation in the building between grades. All our students mix with each other in the relaxed atmosphere of our beautiful campus."
